P/N Initial Load - Unit Cost Zero

logo_12_small edited

The system will update the values of the Average Cost and the Secondary Currency Average Cost via the P/N Master, Costing tab when a P/N Initial Load transaction is completed with a value of zero. The system will take into consideration the currency exchange rate when calculating the value for the Secondary Currency Average Cost.

The following Purchase Order is created for P/N 1065. Currently, there is no quantity available for this part in Inventory.

Purchasing has ordered a quantity of three (3) parts for a Unit Cost of 10.00.

After receiving the full quantity (3), the following fields have been updated once the parts have been received into the system:

Please note that the current exchange rate to TRY is 3.0004.

3.0004 x 10 = 30.004 for the Average Cost

This is all regular Trax functionality, thus far.

Now, a P/N Initial Load transaction is done to bring more parts into Inventory. An additional four (4) parts are Initial Loaded at a Unit Cost of zero.

The Average Cost and Secondary Average Cost has been updated after performing the P/N Initial Load based on the following formula:

Total Cost/Total Qty = New Average Cost

Average Cost

[30.004*3 (original number of parts in Inventory from PO)] / 7 (total number of parts in Inventory including parts that were Initial Loaded) = Average Cost

90 / 7 = 12.8589

Secondary Currency Average Cost

30 / 7 = 4.2857
