The Flexible Compliance Schedule Override Option provides a range of schedule variables to comply with E/Cs that are due at specific intervals. This schedule range is then used in planning the E/C. The E/C will continue to be due at the specific intervals set by the Flexible Compliance Override Schedule provided that all compliances are accomplished within the compliance range, which is configured by a percentage of the First and Repeat Schedules. The Flexible Compliance Override option is for 14 CFR Part 135 Operators who have a Manufacturer Flexible Maintenance Schedule that has been approved by the Regulatory Authorities. The Flexible Compliance should be set up only for new aircraft (or extremely low time aircraft before first scheduled time control) because it uses Total Aircraft Hours, Cycles, or Days (In Service Date) to calculate the schedule as defined in the A/C Master. The Flexible Compliance Schedule Override is only applicable for A/C E/Cs, not for P/N E/Cs. To configure an E/C with a Flexible Override Schedule, select an E/C and go to the Schedule Tab and select the Override From the Engineering Control, Schedule Tab, select the Override TRAX displays the Engineering Schedule Override window. From the 'And' drop down selection, select 'Flexible': Enter the Hours and/or Cycles, and/or Days for the override schedule. The Override Schedule Hours, Cycles, or Days will override the values that are entered in the Schedule Tab. In most cases these Override Schedule Hours, Cycles, or Days will be the same as the ones in the Schedule Tab except the allowed percentage amount above and below the values will be used to calculate the Planning Schedule. Enter the Allowed % Value. To save the record, select the Save Only one Flexible Compliance Override Schedule can be set for an EC (one for the First Schedule and one for the Repeat Schedule). In addition, Flexible Overrides cannot be combined with any other type of override.
Run the A/C Planning query for the E/C to view it's schedule.
Notice that for an E/C with a Flexible Compliance Override Schedule, the "Due At" Box has a Due Date, and Allowed From and Allowed To dates. The Allowed From and Allowed To dates are calculated using the A/C Total Hours, Aircraft Mean Hours and the Allowed % from the Hours in the Override Schedule. In this example, the Flexible Override Schedule allows the E/C to be complied with within a range of hours from 180 to 220 (i.e.the Override Schedule Hours of 200 +/- 10%). Once the E/C is complied with within the Flexible Compliance Range (213 hours in this example) the next Due Date at will be calculated at the next scheduled interval based on the Override Schedule Hours and not the Actual A/C time that the E/C was complied with.
In this Example, the next schedule for the E/C will be at the next 200 hour interval which is 400 hours (NOT 413 Hours, which is 200 hours from last compliance).
If the E/C is complied with outside the range, then that compliance time is used to determine the next interval. For example, if the E/C is complied with at 170 Hours (10 hours before the start of the range), the next E/C schedule will be at 390 Hours (10 hours before the next interval) and the interval will now be every 200 hours from this time (i.e. 390, 590, 790, etc). |
