Creating an Exchange OrderCreating an Exchange Order allows the user to create and update an order of receiving a serviceable part from a Vendor and issuing an unserviceable part in return. Within this, the Vendor is specified for the order, along with the parts to be received and issued. Upon creation of the Exchange Order as a whole, the orders for specific exchanges are created individually. The following is the basic life cycle of an Exchange Order, from the creation of the order as a whole to the creation of the order for the specific exchange:
Once an Exchange Order goes through this basic life cycle, and is authorized if necessary per the company's operating procedures, move on to Receiving or Issuing the Exchange Order. Note: The Process Sequence of Receiving and Issuing an E/X is dependent on the user's company procedures or situation of requiring a serviceable P/N. For example, in an emergency, like AOG, a P/N of an E/X may need to be received before an unserviceable P/N is issued in exchange. However, per a company's policy, a P/N of an E/X may be required to be issued to a Vendor before a serviceable P/N can be received. If the user's next step of the Exchange Order Process is to receive the serviceable P/N from the Vendor, then proceed to Receiving an Exchange Order. If the user's next step of the Exchange Order Process is to issue the unserviceable P/N to the Vendor, then proceed to Issuing an Exchange Order. |
