12.5 - Engineering Module

E/C Auto Schedule Functionality

By selecting the Auto Schedule checkbox via the Engineering Control, Schedule tab, an Engineering Control will be scheduled to take place by or before the due date/time by auto-creating a Work Order. The system auto schedules the Work Order in accordance with the E/C’s Repeat Schedule (repeat interval) unless a flight is scheduled for the aircraft. If the aircraft is scheduled for a flight at the due date/time, the system will generate the Work Order by taking into account certain criteria such as: sufficient E/C ground time, E/C Yield % (Warning % Due). However, if a Work Order already exists and meets all of the above conditions, the system will add the E/C to the existing W/O, taking into account Task Card conflict, Ban Location, and Location Site Capability as well as Location Site (Inactive/Restriction) configuration. For the Auto Schedule option to function properly, at least one (1) compliance must have occurred after the selection of the Auto Schedule checkbox.

Calendar Days (Engineering Control, Schedule Tab)

The following functionality was added to the Calendar Days field in version 12.5:

  • The Calendar Days checkbox has been replaced with the Calendar Days drop down. A 'No Fly' option is now available that allows the user to set up A/C E/C's to calculate due dates based on calendar days starting from the A/C last flight date or E/C last compliance date, whichever is more recent.
  • When Calendar Days is set to Yes, the planning forecast will account for and track:
    1. Off-wing days, between installations and removals; and
    2. Manually entered days that represent historical time accruals.

Float, via Engineering Control, Schedule Control Tab

The Float control is similar to the Called On control, however the float control relies on a formula instead of a set frequency number to determine when the child E/C will follow the parent E/C. It is designed to combat the loss of potential child E/C yields due to the constraints of the set frequency.

Load Reset Date checkbox

When the Load Reset Date checkbox is selected, the date entered in the Mfg Date column of the import file will be used for the components P/N Controls Reset Date, P/N E/Cs Effective Date, and its Birth Date.

Off Wing Calendar Days Accrual Only checkbox (Engineering Control P/N, General Tab)

When this checkbox is selected, the E/C will only accrue time when the selected P/N is off wing. While the P/N is still installed on the aircraft, the E/C will be in 'Terminated' status with the Effective Date specified in the Engineering Control, Schedule Tab. Once the removal of the part is performed, the E/C will switch to 'Open' status and have its Effective Date changed to the part's removal date. When a RI is performed on the part after the repair process, the E/C's Effective Date will change to the selected RI date and remain in 'Open' status. Once the part is installed on an aircraft again, the E/C's status will revert back to 'Terminated'.

Note: This checkbox only applies to E/Cs that have the Calendar Days checkbox selected in the Engineering Control, Schedule Tab and will appear once a P/N is specified.
