The Minimize Cost button allows the user to enter an amount to reduce inventory for all rotable P/Ns that are effective to a specified Type-Series. Once the 'Amount to Reduce Inventory' field is populated and the Calculate button is selected, the system will recommend which parts to reduce the quantity of in order for the inventory to meet the required Service Level %.

From the Inventory Optimization (Rotable) window, select the Minimize Cost button.

TRAX displays the Minimize Cost window:

From the Minimize Cost window, select a P/N Effectivity from the drop down menu. Populate all desired information and select the Calculate button.

No Go Minimum Service Level %

Enter the minimum Service Level % required for a 'No Go' - Flight cannot be dispatched with part inoperative. This value defaults to 95%. The system will include all P/Ns with respective effectivity that are specified as 'No Go'. This information can be defined in the P/N Master, Technical Engineering tab, via the Essentiality field. For additional information, refer to the P/N Master, Technical Engineering Tab via the P/N Master of the Settings Training Manual.

Go If Minimum Service Level %

Enter the minimum Service Level % required for a 'Go If' - Flight can sometimes be dispatched with part inoperative. This value defaults to 95%. The system will include all P/Ns with respective effectivity that are specified as 'Go If'. This information can be defined in the P/N Master, Technical Engineering tab, via the Essentiality field. For additional information, refer to the P/N Master, Technical Engineering Tab via the P/N Master of the Settings Training Manual.

Go Minimum Service Level %

Enter the minimum Service Level % required for a 'Go' - Flight can always be dispatched with part inoperative. This value defaults to 95%. The system will include all P/Ns with respective effectivity that are specified as 'Go'. This information can be defined in the P/N Master, Technical Engineering tab, via the Essentiality field. Amount to Reduce Inventory

Enter the amount to reduce the inventory cost by. If this field is left blank when the Calculate button is selected, the following error message will appear:

The user may manipulate the data in this window to re-calculate the Overall Service results multiple times until the desired results are attained.

Select the Print button to print the above results.
