Setting Up User Log On Options

In addition to the classic method of logging into TRAX (entering a Username and Password), TRAX Administrators can also set up two additional Log On Methods for employees depending on what best sits their business process.

Session Log On

From the Session tab of the Security window administrators can link a username with an employee's session domain and session username. This link between TRAX username and their Windows domain information allows users to log in to their TRAX session through the Login As option. The Login As option validates the user's TRAX username with their Windows username/password. And because users' credentials are validated automatically, there is no need to enter the TRAX username and password at login.

LDAP Log On

TRAX allows users to login using their LDAP credentials (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol). This option maps an employee's LDAP username to a specific username in TRAX.

but_Interface (gry) The LDAP function only applies to customers who have the LDAP Interface set up. For more information consult a Trax Interface Administrator.

Before creating a Session Log On or an LDAP Log On, certain information must first be populated and saved in the Employee Master, Optional tab. For additional information, refer to Employee Master, Optional Tab via Employee Master which can be found in the Settings Training manual.
