Engineering Fatigue

The E/C Fatigue option is designed to report and update on Engineering Controls that contain Task Cards that are affected by a Fatigue rating specified by the aircraft manufacturer (i.e., Airbus). Refer to the Aircraft Type/Series and the Engineering Control sections below for information on the required parameters that drive fatigue calculations.

The E/C Fatigue window appears as follows. Enter the A/C Type/Series, make any necessary selections, then select the Find but_find_small button.

12_ECFatigue(1)

The following information/options are available in this window:
_____________________________________________________________________________________

A/C Type/Series

The Aircraft Type and Series/Fleet assignment. This Type/Series will have its fatigue ratings calculated.

Update Main E/C checkbox

Will put the re-calculated parameter into the Main E/C Schedule (not just in the Aircraft Effectivity).

Reset First Schedule checkbox

Select to Reset the First Schedule on the Aircraft Effectivity to the re-calculated parameter.

Reset Repeat Schedule checkbox

Select to reset the Repeat Schedule to the re-calculated parameter.

Fatigue Cycles Recalculation

This option produces a report of the suggested cycle interval for the applicable Engineering Controls.

Fatigue Cycles Recalculation Update

This option updates the re-calculated parameters back into the applicable Engineering Controls.

Fatigue Parameters

Average Flight Time and Basic Flight Time

The A/C Type/Series, General tab contains AFT (Average Flight Time) and BFT (Basic Flight Time) parameters.

The following information/options are available in this window:
_____________________________________________________________________________________

AFT and BFT

The optional AFT and BFT parameters relate to the Fatigue program for certain Airbus (only) models. AFT is Average Fight Time; BFT is Basic Flight time (these parameters are supplied by Airbus for that type/series). The Engineering Controls within the system have the capability to record the FC (Flight Cycles) and FR (Fatigue Rate) parameters which can then be recalculated according to the supplied formula:
“Schedule Cycles = FC x ( 1 - ( AFT - BFT ) x FR )”
The system can then use the new calculated Cycles frequency for the forecasting of the required inspection date.

Flight Cycles and Fatigue Rate

The Engineering Control, Other tab contains the FC (Flight Cycles) and FR (Fatigue Rate) parameters.

The following information/options are available in this window:
_____________________________________________________________________________________

FR (Fatigue Rate)

The Fatigue Rate being recorded by this E/C. This field is used to calculate fatigue schedules along with the Average Flight Time (AFT) and Basic Flight Time (AFB) parameters listed for specific Aircraft Type/Series. This functionality is used for Airbus aircraft only and should be provided by the manufacturer.

FC (Fatigue Cycles)

The Fatigue Cycles being recorded by this E/C. This field is used to calculate Fatigue schedules along with the Average Flight Time (AFT) and Basic Flight Time (AFB) parameters listed for specific Aircraft Type/Series. This functionality is used for Airbus aircraft only and should be provided by the manufacturer.
