Manufacturer Electronic Data Load (MEDL)The Manufacturer Electronic Data Load (MEDL) option is used to load (import) electronic digital documents (documentation in .SGML format) received by your organization into TRAX Maintenance System. The option is used when the documentation is provided to you in digital portable media (i.e. CD-ROM, cartridge, etc.) and you want to make that information available via the system. The format of the data can vary. The TRAX Maintenance System supports the import of data provided in SGML (.SGM) format. The portable media is imported into the system and then becomes available for use and reference. Either Adobe® Framemaker® + SGML or Adobe® Acrobat is necessary to view and print the information once it has been imported into the TRAX Maintenance System. Please contact Adobe® for any information that you require regarding Adobe® products. Other software applications that can read/print SGML files can also be used. Please contact TRAX Corporation to determine the custom programming that will be required. Currently the system supports the import of the following manuals for Bombardier, Airbus, and Boeing:
The Aircraft Illustrated Parts Catalog (AIPC) option in the Manufacturer Electronic Data Load (MEDL) window is being phased out and will no longer be further developed or modified. Instead, users should import IPC electronic manuals via the TraxDoc module. For more information refer to the TraxDoc AIPC Import via the TraxDoc Training Manual. Once the manual has been imported, the Task Cards contained in the imported manual can then be referenced via the TRAX Maintenance System (on E/Cs or Task Cards). The reference is created via Engineering/ Update/ Task Card, Manual Once the manual has been successfully imported, the information from the manual is stored in the Oracle® database in a table named task_card_reference (odb.task_card_reference [control category]). The following tabs and buttons are available:
Additional information for the utilization of the functionality is detailed in the following:
