Contract Order Setup and Configuration

Before creating Contract Orders, administrators must set up the security, authorization, and revision configurations.

The following is the basic life cycle of a Contract Order, particularly the setup and configuration:

• The following Transaction Codes in particular must be set up for the Contract Order process:
  • Options C/O
  • Order Category
  • Order Type
  • Priority
• The listed switches configure some of the most broad features that affect Contract Order management. For more information, refer to the following switches:
  • AUTOMESSAGELOAD
  • COCAPEX
  • CONTBLOC
  • COPOREORAUT
  • ORCAPEXSP
  • VNDLIST

Note: Other Switches that affect Contract Orders will be mentioned throughout this process. For more information on all switches, refer to the Orders Switches Manual.

• Depending on the user's company's operating procedures, Contract Orders require an authorization process to be completed. For more information, refer to the Authorization Process and the Orders Authorization Explorer.

After being created, Contract Orders are utilized through Purchase Order that are generated automatically based on the Contract Order's P/N's Re-Order Levels, which are set up and configured in the P/N Master. For more information, refer to the Re-Order Level Process.
