If a P/N E/C has Positioning Control, then the E/C is only effective to that P/N when the P/N is installed on the specified Aircraft Position (S/N's Status will be 'Open' in Override window). If the P/N is installed on a position that is not specified, then the E/C will not be effective for the part (S/N's Status will be 'N/A' in the Override window).
If a Position Change transaction takes place for an effective P/N E/C, but the new position is not configured for the P/N E/C, then the P/N will lose its P/N E/C effectivity. The S/N's Status in the Engineering Effectivity Override window will be 'N/A' (instead of 'Open').
Additionally, in Version 12, Receiving switch
When set to Yes, the system will allow P/N E/Cs that have Position Controls to be available in the Receiving Inspection and Order Receiving window, and will give users the ability to update the Reset Date of the E/C. Additionally, with the Switch set to Yes, the Inventory Planner will display P/N E/C parts that are not installed and have a N/A Status. When set to No, the system will not allow P/N E/Cs that have Position Controls to be available inside the Receiving Inspection and Order Receiving window, thus not giving the ability to update the Reset Date of the E/C.
