Library Setup and Configuration

Before beginning the Library Process, administrators must set up the security, authorization, and revision configurations.

The following is the basic life cycle of the Library Process, particularly the setup and configuration:

• The listed switches configure some of the most broad features that affect Library management. For more information, refer to the following switches:
  • LIBNWK
  • RSEMADD
  • RSEMPAS
• The following Transaction Codes in particular must be set up for the Library Process:
  • Manual Category
  • Manual Revision Category
  • Tech Pub Request

Note: Other Switches and Tran Codes that affect the Library Process will be mentioned throughout this process. For more information on all switches, refer to the Library Switches Manual.

• Depending on the user's company's operating procedures, the Library module requires an authorization process to be completed. For more information, refer to Authorization Process, which is utilized for this module in the following windows:
  • Tech Pub Request Authorization Group Explorer
  • Tech Pub Request Authorization
  • Library Authorization Group Explorer
  • Manual Authorization Explorer

Once all of these configurations have been set up, users can begin the Library Process, which often starts with the Tech Pub Request.
