Link Help File Path to TRAX Help Button

Switch Set to Yes:

When set to Yes, users can insert the web address or the local address to the TRAX web help files in the Config Other field which will be linked to the Help button.

Select the Help/Index button from the TRAX toolbar.

Note: In Version 12.5, the 'Help' button was changed to the 'Index' button.

When selected, the link in the switch’s Config Other field is opened. In this example, the Index button is linked to the online help folder that was downloaded to a shared directory.

Note: Instead of a link to the online help, users have the option to download the help files onto a local drive, then link the switch/Help button to the local drive. If linking this switch to the local drive, in Versions prior to 12.5, the path to the 'index.htm' file must be entered in the Config Other field.
(For example: T:\TRAX Online HELP\index.htm)

Window Help Button

In Version 12.5 and later releases, each window in TRAX contains a Help button. Each button can be linked to the relevant window in the online help.

Note: In order for each window to be linked to the corresponding topic in the online help, a mapping file must be imported through the Import Help Reference button of the Control Panel. This mapping file is available in iCentral here, and is called 'Online Help (TRAX) - object codes'. For detailed information on how this is accomplished, refer to the Import Help Reference Button, via Control Panel.

Notice that the path in the URL is the same as the path in the switch's Config Other field. The system links each window to the correct online help file.

Note: If the Online Help is not downloaded in a shared directory, when the Help button is clicked an error will appear.

Switch Set to No:

When set to No, the Help button is not linked to the switch’s Config Other field and therefore cannot link to the Help Files.

Select the Help button from the TRAX toolbar.

When selected, the following errors appear.
