SCRAP

A 'SCRAP' takes place when a component is removed from inventory using the Scrap but_scrap button via Inventory/Update/Inventory Transaction.

For example, find a part that needs to be removed from the Inventory Transaction window then select the Scrap but_scrap button.

Enter the Scrap Code (if necessary) then select the Save but_save_small button.

Note: When G/L Interface Switch COMPANYMULTI is set to 'Yes', parts belonging to a parent company that are entered into inventory by a subsidized airline will be reflected in the G/L when scrapped. For more information regarding the multi-company functionality, refer to Switch COMPANYMULTI via the G/L Interface Switches Manual.

From the Journal Entry Detail Query window users can see the adjustments against the G/L.

Notice the Category Code field in the Order tab reads 'SCRAP'.

Note: The above screenshot has been altered to highlight the relevant columns for this example.

For more information regarding the Scrap button functionality refer to the topic Scrap Button via the Inventory manual.
