Run Planning Button, via Interactive Planner

logo_12_5 small button

The Run Planning but_planning button allows the user to run a planning query that allows for the forecast of aircraft maintenance along with the along with the associated material, manpower and cost requirements. Essentially, maintenance events are threefold in nature:

  1. Scheduled/Planned Maintenance events such as mandatory Engineering Controls (AD, Checks, SB, etc), P/N Controls (TSO, CSO, etc.) and Deferred Defects (M.E.L., Watch Items).
  2. Optional Maintenance Events such as Engineering Modifications and company convenience items (fleet campaigns).
  3. Unscheduled Maintenance (Open non-deferred defect reports, non-routine task cards).

Note: Unscheduled Maintenance items are not included as part of the A/C Planning Query. These are the defect reports located during line maintenance checks and planned maintenance (overnights or checks). Defect Reports will not become part of planning until the Defect is Deferred.

From the Interactive Planner window, select the Run Planning but_planning button.

The Planning Query, General tab appears. Select the appropriate planning elements, and other specific criteria to run the planning query. As with any query application, the more information that is entered, the more specific the search results will be.

The following information/options are available in this window:
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Deselect Actions button

Selecting this button will deselect the following checkboxes:

  • Spare Forecast days
  • Man Hours Forecast
  • W/O Man Hours Forecast

Spare Forecast checkbox

If checked, a P/N icon will appear next to all items in the A/C Planning Query results if they require parts from inventory in order to be accomplished. The P/N icon will appear in any of three colors to indicate the current availability of the part. Green will display if all parts required are available in inventory. Yellow will display if some, but not all parts are available in inventory. Red will display if no parts are available in inventory. If unchecked, the P/N icon will not appear.

Spare Forecast Days drop down

When the Spare Forecast checkbox is selected, the following drop down menu appears, allowing the user to select the number of days to forecast the availability of spares required for maintenance. If the number of days is not specified, the forecast will account for the entire duration of the query. This option allows the planner to limit the amount of data being queried to the near future. Limiting the spares forecast allows for the query to run more efficiently.

Man Hours Forecast checkbox

Select this checkbox to generate a forecast of required Man Hours. These hours are pulled from the Task Card(s) related to the Planning elements.

W/O Man Hours Forecast checkbox

Select this checkbox to generate a forecast of required W/O Man Hours which includes Non-Routines.

All_Elements

Select the Plan Un-checked Element checkbox to query for elements that are not planned. The Plan Un-checked Element checkbox cannot be selected by default.

Plan_Unchecked_Elements

Note: The outcome of the selection/de-selection of the above three checkboxes will depend on the setting of the Plan checkbox (i.e. Plan E/C, Plan Defect, Plan P/N Control) for the planning elements. The system will default to the Plan Checked Elements checkbox.

Note: Users must have security to access this checkbox.

Run Using Flight Schedule checkbox

When selected, the forecast will be based upon a flight schedule. Once that flight schedule is surpassed, the forecast will then become based on the time the planning is run in calculation with the schedule.

  • PLNAUTO7D - (Activate Seven Day Forecast automatically at set interval.) - If set to Yes, this switch will activate the Seven Day Forecast window in the Interactive Planner. It will also automatically set a Planning Job to forecast the tasks for the next seven days. If set to No, the Seven Day Forecast will not be activated.

When a previous query is selected, the query window will be populated with the same data used for the prior search. These previously-specified filters can be edited manually as required before running the new Planning Query. To clear queries in the 'Using' drop down, select the Refresh History Data but_refresh_history_data button to the right of the field (see below).
