TraxDoc Switches

The TraxDoc Module is an electronic document management system. TraxDoc provides the ability to manage documents and manuals in Trax. It allows an organization to enter or create TraxDoc Documents from hardcopy or electronic sources. TraxDoc provides the ability to track revisions, and to validate, authorize, and distribute electronic documentation.

The Trax Library Module is still used to manage physical paper (hardcopy) documents and manuals that are stored in your organization. The Read and Sign functionality and the TechPub Request functionality from the Library Module are also used for electronic documents.

A general outline of the steps involved with the TraxDoc module is as follows:

  1. Setup the TraxDoc Categories (via TraxDoc System Transaction Codes).
  2. Setup the TraxDoc Authorization Groups and add Users to the groups (via TraxDoc System Transaction Codes).
  3. Setup the TraxDoc Document Authorization Routing (via TraxDoc System Transaction Codes).
  4. Setup TraxDoc Security.
  5. Enter TraxDoc Documents into TraxDoc (via the TraxDoc Master).
  6. Release the TraxDoc Document to Authorization (via TraxDoc Authorization Management).
  7. Authorize the TraxDoc Document (via TraxDoc Authorization).
  8. Apply additional functionality to the TraxDoc Documents with the TraxDoc Buttons (Change Parent TraxDoc Button, Links Button, Revision CTL Button, Copy TraxDoc Button, etc.).

For customers using Trax Web, it is recommended to install a fat client in order to have complete access to all TraxDoc functionality.

Configuration switches allow administrators to modify specific features. Each module contains its own set of switches which can be found via System/Explorer/System Transaction Configuration.
