Search Function

Part of the selection criteria can be the search function. This allows logic to be applied to the filtration of the data. Normally, all searches are carried out using the data equal to (=) selection. Usually, there is a Search Function Selection at the top right of every query or report window that contains the following:

Search_Drop_Down

_____________________________________________________________________________________

<=

Less than or equal to

<>

Not equal to

=

Equal to

>=

Greater than or equal to

Like

Show data like or similar to

_____________________________________________________________________________________

This has limited use in normal operations because it will only work effectively on one selected field. The best approach to have multiple effective controls over search functions is to use the Filter on the data.
