MEL Authorization Process

MELs follow a custom authorization format and is an exception to the standard authorization process. The Standard Authorization process works the same way for Engineering Controls, Task Cards, Work Orders, Requisitions, TraxDocs, P/N Controls and all Order Types. For information on the authorization process for any of the above mentioned transactions, refer to the Standard Authorization Process.

Once a MEL is created, the user may set up authorization steps or authorization requirements via the MEL Master. The MEL must then be released for authorization and authorization must then be accepted.

The MEL Authorization process is designed to allow users to visualize the entire procedure for setting up authorization requirements for a MEL and releasing and accepting a MEL for authorization.
