ENFORCERANGETYPE - Enforce Range Rules
Enforce Range Rules Affected Window: w_engineering_control_range_eu
Switch Set to Yes: When set to Yes, the system will not allow the user to enter or Copy/Paste a range that includes alpha characters, special characters, or a numeric value with spaces or a range that does not contain the same number of numeric values in the From-To fields. The system will allow the user to enter or Copy/Paste a numeric range. This pertains to the A/C, A/C S/N, Line, Variable No, SGML Designator and IPC types. The user will be permitted to enter or Copy/Paste alpha characters for P/N S/N types.

Separator Type Parameter: The Separator Type Parameter applies only to P/N S/Ns. The Separator Type parameter allows the user to specify a Separator character for P/N S/Ns that are to contain a separation. In the below example, the separator character is a dash (-). Once specified, this special character will not be treated as such when applying a From-To Range for a P/N S/N. A P/N S/N usually has one or more dashes in it. The last dash usually represents a separator between the base serial number on the left and a sequential counter on the right. Read from the right side of the field to determine if the string has a dash or not. If it has more than one dash, focus on the rightmost dash. ABC-123-111 <- read from this side an go back ABC-123 - Leftmost 111 - Rightmost
Switch set to No: When set to No, the system does not use the same logic as illustrated under the Yes setting.
